ActiveTick is capable of displaying a number of commonly used chart styles.
Open High Low Close chart, also commonly known as OHLC chart, is a type of chart used to display movements in the price over time. Each vertical line on the chart displays the range of the price (its highest and lowest prices) over one unit of time, for example one minute, one hour, or one day. Each vertical line projects ticks on the left side, signifying starting price of the bar, and on the right side, signifying ending price. The bars typically show in different colors depending on whether price rose or fell during that period.
The candlestick chart is a type of chart used primarily to display price movements over time. Candlesticks are usually made of body (black or white) and upper and a lower shadow. The shadow displays the highest and lowest prices, and the body displays the beginning and ending trades. When the price goes up, the body is white, with beginning price located at the bottom of the body, and ending price at the top. When the price goes down, the body becomes black, with beginning price at the top of the body and ending price a the bottom.
Data that is arranged in a table-format can be plotted in a line chart. Line charts display continuous data over time, and are usually considered ideal for showing trends of data with equal periods. In a line chart, data is typically distributed evenly on time axis, and all prices are distributed evenly on price axis.
Mountain have same properties as line charts, with exception of having their contents filled with color.
By default, ActiveTick displays OHLC chart style, unless it the setting was altered through Global settings.
To change chart style from Chart menu, select the chart window, click on Chart->Chart Style menu option and chose appropriate style:
